I was really getting to worry that somehow this cabinet will continue to exist as a chaos in my otherwise very white room. But one hour of no electricity and boredom seem to give me the necessary prodding. How? Please do not ask. That is how my brain works. At weird places and time.
You know, this was an experiment gone wrong. Getting very kicked (Yes, the blogs are to blame) by some wonderful chalkboard paint projects, I dowsed my brush and gave it a coat. What I didn’t realize was it had a wallpaper base and I had to rip it off.
Anyway, last night I ripped off the old paper and covered the shutters in this fabric. Small nails plus Araldite (Hot Glue) for securing the corners where pins could not reach.
Finally, the chaos in the order has been heeded to. Here is the before! I know eeeks!
Such a relief! That too with investment on only nails and glue. The fabric comes from an old curtain!!
Would love to hear what you think 🙂

I love it! The pattern on the doors is just gorgeous, very much in keeping with Cottage Style! You did a great job, and honestly the before was not bad at all 😉

Thank you. I’m loving its new look too! But, lol, believe me in the photograph it may not look like it but in person you could see its bloated papers.

And yes, never waste inspired moments- I agree with you. People think I’m absolutely crazy though- count me in on going out to buy pins when its storming outside, DIY-ing my heart out with no power, and many more of its likes!

oh Thank you tara. Well, why don’t you try gluing. You can revamp them with fabric glue which can be taken off and cleaned when wanted. Or even starch is a good idea.

Yay! I have been considering gluing the inside of our cabinets but it did not crossed my mind of doing the same on the outside! thank you for reminding me.

So cute!! Great job on the styling to!
The floral is perfect, not too tizzy which some florals can be.

Hello courtney! Well, thanks for your vote of confidence.
I agree about the floral part…it can get really tizzy at times. These are so pale that they merge very well like a mosaic.

It’s so much more ‘you’ now. Although the chalk board paint was a good experiment and I know you’ve used it successfully on several projects. It’s looks beautiful dressed just as you have shown it here, enhancing and being enhanced by your other things.
Good luck with the cross stitch tree for R.
