Before I begin, I want to apologize for the blurry image. You know what I did right? Resized it to 400 X 533 and then wanted to resize it to 576 X 768. Yes. Too much stretch and pull rendered this baby rather hurt. But that’s okay, as long as you can see it.
My new apartment has a characteristically small bedroom and my bed eats up 60% of the room. Plus, you can never work in the living room unless you have a super powerful concentration power that has taken a monkish vow to not get distracted.
So, I was left with only one choice: To make a nook for myself. Well, I did make a nook by using the wall space but somehow it needed more love. I was not being able to work in that place I made because I didn’t feel at home with it. Hence, began the makeover plan.
Challenges:
In a dime (read: 15 $)
A space that’s even smaller than the budget
The space need to have my inspirations, msg board, lamp and laptop- I am very particular about these when I am writing
Hence began the sketch.
I first de-cluttered the entire space- this is the first step to a goodlooking home. Remember, Nothing is always better than anything. And by anything I mean useless things.
Second, I wrapped the message board in drop cloth with glue and secured a hook at the back with a screw
Third, I drilled two small holes on top of the mirror and attached a wall mount curved bracket, the one you usually use in sets to make a wall mount rack. I used its tip as my flower pot hanger
4th, I created a hanging basket of money plants, about which you can read here
5th, I got myself a chair and chilled
Here is the before
Wishing you a creative week ahead!

Hi karen. Thank you for your lovely comment. Well, the best part is it overlooks the creek and hence I simply chose to keep it open. An open mind is in itself an inspiration.

It looks so much more ‘you’ in the after shot. I would never even begin to think of covering a noticeboard with cloth – it looks perfect in your pale colour setting.

Thank you Janice. Ideally I would have loved to get a white or pale rose velvet but I kind of used the drop cloth because I just wanted to make my corner look beautiful. Like, i couldn’t wait anymore.
